About Us
Beginning in August 2021, the Upper Room Youth Center (URYC), an afterschool program, opened its door for our community's youth to have free access to tutoring, mentoring, life & culinary skills, field trips, community service, and so much more.
Designed with a daily safe check in/out system, snacks, tutoring, and activities, URYC fills the after-school gap for middle and high school students. The Upper Room staff and volunteers are community members, pastors, teachers, business owners, retirees, grandparents, and high school students dedicated to nurturing positive relationships and promoting acceptance while meeting the social and emotional needs of the youth while simultaneously supplementing academic needs in the way to homework help. Our mission is to positively impact the course of our community's youth and to give them tools to grow and succeed.
''It is the mission of the Upper Room Youth Center to offer a safe, structured environment after school for public or homeschooled middle and high school students while building relationships, teaching life skills, and fostering foundations for success.''
The Upper Room Youth Center operates Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm per the academic calendar year with additional events throughout the summer.
