Position Purpose
The Student Behavior Specialist (Social Worker/Counselor) supports student success by leading and coordinating behavior interventions within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) framework. This position focuses on prevention, early intervention, and targeted supports for students experiencing behavioral, social-emotional, or school adjustment challenges.
Aligned with the district's Professional Learning Community (PLC) model, this role collaborates with teachers and collaborative teams to ensure every student receives the support needed to succeed behaviorally and academically.
The Student Behavior Specialist serves as a key resource in developing proactive systems that promote positive behavior, improve student engagement, and support strong learning environments for all students.
Reports directly to the Building Principal.
Works collaboratively with teachers, PLC teams, administration, families, and support staff.

Qualifications
- Valid Indiana license as one of the following:
- School Counselor
- School Social Worker
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Knowledge of MTSS/RTI frameworks.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Experience using data to guide interventions and decision-making.
